What is it? In this book, 140 artists from across the globe, were invited to share their ideas and visions toward a more equitable future, that invites us to reconnect to our planet Earth. It includes poems, philosophical essays, artworks, instruction for DIYs, recipes, and so much more, from artists such as Vivienne Westwood, Yoko Ono, Marina Abramovic, etc. Why do I recommend it?
The entries are very varied, and those I liked most are those with instructions to encourage us to reconnect to our environment. For example Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg, invites us to sit down to observe and list living things in a square meter of ground (whether pavement, garden, field, etc). Fritz Haeg provides instructions on creating an "Earth Altar" in our homes, from found objects such as seeds, branches, soil, but also pieces of trash. Tatiana Bilbao lists many ways for us to turn our neighbourhoods into connected communities, that include our human neighbours, but also birds, trees, etc. Each entry is quite short (no more than 2 pages) so it is very easy to read, yet deeply thought-provoking.
